(Sorry guys I know you have been hanging!)
Met with this scrumptious little button last weekend, and at 16 days old she was a sleeper. Her skin was like butter, she wass sooooo cute!! And so good to me ♥
I know plenty more are hanging out for their proofs and also prints and trust me they are coming! I took nearly 6 weeks off full time working and had grand plans of getting on top of everything in that time. However, I had also decided to keep my just-about-to-start-kinder girl home with me for the holidays. BIG mistake, I couldnt get a thing done unless I had NO kids or unless it was midnight. So yes, I am mega behind in proofing and getting organized but hope to have it all sorted as soon as I can!
Words to describe these kids : Looney. Mad. Clowns. Happy. Serious. Cheeky. Determined. Caring. Crazy. Lucky. Loved.
I spend a bit of time with this lot of lunatics so I was glad to finally have them all to myself for 5 minutes for a fun session. It was hot, late and they were all hungry so we didnt stay out long. But so happy with what I did get! 
2010 so far has been as flat out – I thought I was supposed to be relaxing and de-stressing and not doing much. Yeah right!
I turned 30. Decided to quit my most favourite thing in the world. Decided to get fit (pffft!). Decided to keep tropical fish in the tank I got for my birthday (instead we have goldfish cycling the water for a few weeks untilt he tropicals can live here, 5 of them. And as the tank is by my desk, they come to the corner and STARE AT ME when they are hungry. Whoever said goldfish only have a 2 second memory are wrong, they know exactly what they are doing). Decided to me more patient with the kids (double PFFT). Decided to make a few changes to Cupcakes.
The biggest two changes by far are the change to full black and white for newborn photography, and ONLY black and white.
And the rise for 2010 in prices for prints AND my Wedding package. Print prices have not increased dramatically, and my Wedding package has increased. The increase really does reflect all inclusions within the package. I have already secured a lot of wedding bookings for 2010 – the first of which is on Palm Beach, Sydney in Feburary. Very excited about that one! Also travelling to the Sunshine Coast, QLD at Easter for The Wedding Of The Year which is fast approaching!
I start back shooting on Feb 3rd, just after my middle baby heads off to school.
When in Sydney I was so hot, I could have cried daily!! We stayed with one of my besties Bec, who has Max, Lil and Charlotte. Baby Charlotte is now 8 weeks and the chubbiest little nugget around. She is so so cruisey, when we were staying in her sauna of a house, you wouldnt even know she was there! So booful!
Ya. This is me – not working. (It’s a NEWBORN baby, I cannot say no!)
The divine Miss Evie, at 9 days was an alert little monkey. This is a gal who knows what she wants and likes, and will let anyone know. So far, she likes her arms to be IN the wrap and she loves cuddles. She does not like nappy change time, baths or having her feet tickled. She also came 3 weeks early and is a toal little chubster already with cheeks for Australia!
I always like to take a fam on at Christmas time, it is not often these days to have all the family togather in one spot. I only do one though, it’s Christmas for me too. 
Great fun, my final shoot of 2009, we had a great morning chasing all the kiddos. It was actually really quick, adults are really easy to photograph and there were only 4 toddlers so it wasnt too bad. Will start with Mama and Papa Hurford – cracking dirty jokes! They do have 6 kids though, I’m sure they know where dirty jokes lead…
How could I forget! Phoenix had us all in fits, saying ‘Nordy F**keeeeerrrrrs!!!’ everytime Dad asked him where those naughty truckers were. Bahahahaaaa!

What a complete little star wee Alli-Rose was for me today. Yes folks, Boxing Day. Now that is dedication!! Look, you just cant get this stage of a newborns life back. And I can’t resist a 6 day old so squishy and new and so beautiful…. her Mum is so confident, breastfeeding beautifully and already so so in love with her baby girl. What a wonderful Christmas xx
Might be a good time to declare that as of 2010 ALL newborn shoots will be exclusively Black and White. My love of newborn photography, along with my love of the timeless black and white combined is pure magic. Newborns and B&W work so well together, I look forward to meeting all the new babies in 2010! My offer of the two shoots for the price of one still remains, it seems to work well for both me and newborn clients. Seeing them again at 6 months and being able to meet with parents who are much less tired works so well and appeals to everyone so much more.

So I have photographed Kate, Brent and Finn before and was pretty much ready to be charged with stalking and harrassment of poor Kate when I KNEW wee Ruby was 6 days old today. She promised, and I made her keep it! What a beautiful baby, I am in love!
I also wanted to say that Ruby is a prime example of getting me in early! The difference between a 6 day old baby and a 12 day old baby is MASSIVE. I know it sounds really silly, but you need to trust me on that! 6 day olds are floppy and sleepy and still getting used to the world. They curl like a dream and settle well for me. A 12 day old baby has had an extra week nearly to learn their surroundings, to know voices, smalls, environments and to get unsettled when a different voice, smell and pressence is in their space. And they dont like it. 6 days olds dont even notice. Smart creatures newborns, they fascinate me!
I fully understand that on day 6 the last thing you want is a photographer through your house, you’ve just had a baby, the place is a mess and you are leaking milk and not showered and cant remember if you slept last night or not. Care factor for all of the above is ZERO – I dont expect anything else than a Mama who is still in recovery from birth! All I need from you is boozies on tap to settle if needed and that is all. I’ll be out of your hair within an hour!

Meg is staying with us for the night, what better oppoirtunity to photograph one of my favourite girls. Just about to start highschool, she also gained the academic achievement award for her class. Gorge, gorge gorge. She is too good to me in front of the camera, no direction needed really. 
Well, didn’t bubby Max surprise us all when he fell into a lovely slumber. A 4 week old…sleeping??? This first shot is the ULTIMATE for me, he is so beautiful. He has a rocker that vibrates – how long have these been around for?? What a great invention! He was really calm in it, but did get over it pretty quickly. Max like snuggles ♥
Max had his photos taken as a voucher gift for Mum from her workmates/staff. It is such a lovely gift and it is one that will keep on giving over the years! Vouchers are available for newborns, kids, families and whatever else you can think of. I’m up for anything! And, as I said on FB – mine are really cool.
